Five more swedes into main draw. The final day of qualification is always dramatic, today was no exception. Blood, sweat and tears but also lots of happy faces from players, coaches and parents yesterday after winning the final points to qualify for the main draw of this prestigious event.
Four Swedish boys made their way through qualification making the total of 17 Swedes in the main draw. A record! On the girls’ side, one made it through, making it a total of eight Swedish girls.
In total 28 countries will be represented in this year’s main draw.
So tomorrow it all gets going, Swedish hopefuls expect Leo Borg who is seeded number 7, to get off to a good start.
Its tough competition this year and it will be extra interesting to see how the top Swedish players compete against the finest international and European hardened competitors.
Sweden’s number 1, performing well, Arslan Temirhanov, will take on strong qualifier Alexander Gammariello from Italy. Another dangerous qualifier is Ivan Penev from Bulgaria who will play Sweden’s Michael Minasyan in a very interesting match.
All the top Swedish girls are in action tomorrow and we should look out for
our national team; Klara Milicdvic, Louise Wikander and Julia Lövkvist.
