All remaining Swedish players went out of the singles on Wednesday. A blue-and-yellow highlight was Knut Andersch’s (Vallda TK) with a brilliant first set (6-2) against fourth-seeded Savva Rybkin, but unfortunately, Knut could not go the distance this time.
The time has come to meet the remaining 16 players in this year’s tournament. First up is the match between the talented player from Japan Motoharu Abe, against second-seeded left-hander Jan Urbanski from Poland.
Another high-energy fight worth watching is the Czech player Dominik Dujka against Mustafa Eye Sik from Turkey.
On the girls’ side, Noelia Manta, Switzerland, against Marilyn van Brempt will be an interesting encounter. Also, the match between Canadian Joyce Geng (born 2010) against second-seeded Czech Sofie Hettlerova is worth keeping an eye on. Geng got a WO from Rebecca Malmström (KLTK), that, unfortunately, had to throw in the towel due to illness.
Wednesday ended with the popular – Players Party! It was a magical evening, to say the least!
