The day has offered intense and entertaining matches at Kungens Kanna & Drottningens Pris. There was a great crowd and an electric atmosphere as two Swedish girls successfully advanced to the second round.

Mimmie Büchler (Helsingborgs Tennisklubb) and Emina Honic (Fair Play) delivered strong performances on home soil, playing their matches at the same time on courts 1 and 2. With the support of the audience, both Swedes celebrated their victories after hard-fought three-set matches.

Tomorrow, Swedish player Grace Bernstein (Good to Great) will also enter the tournament, coming home with two titles at the French Grade 1 tournament TIM Essonne. She commented on her performance: “It was fun playing there, and I see it as a great experience.”

Among the seeded players, top-seeded Laurens Drijver from the Netherlands lived up to expectations, securing a solid win. Latvian Darina Matvejeva also showed impressive form, defeating her opponent with ease. The day also brought an upset, as Britain’s Grace Watson eliminated third-seeded Ukrainian Violetta Skryp in a tight three-setter.

The tournament continues with exciting matches over the coming days. Tomorrow, the remaining first-round matches in the singles categories will be played, followed by the start of the doubles competition. We can also look forward to second-seeded Rafael Pagonis from Greece, facing Sweden’s Melwin Giers.

Tuesday’s matches start at 10:30 AM!
