Anastasia Potapova claimed her first WTA Tour title at the TEB BNP Paribas Tennis Championship Istanbul, defeating Veronika Kudermetova in the final, dropping only four games winning by 6–3, 6–1.
She reached a career-high ranking of No.64 in 2019, but inconsistency and ankle surgery in 2020 slowed her progress. Coming into Istanbul, Potapova’s ranking had fallen to No.122 – this title will take her back into the top 100.
Potapova reached the singles final and won the doubles in Drottningens Pris 2014.
