After several duels lasting over three hours of play, we could finally see which players advanced to the quarterfinals.
One of today’s highlights was the Swedish player Grace Bernstein, who impressed on the court and secured her spot in one of Friday’s quarterfinals after a solid performance. With her focused play, she demonstrated both skill and strength. Grace shared a few words after her victory: “I felt good, and I feel like I’m playing better with every match.”
Today’s surprise came from Veronika Troitckaia, who defeated the seventh-seeded Czech player Sofie Mottlová in a thrilling match. A strong performance that took her to the quarterfinals.
Among the boys, we saw several close matches, with qualifier Edoardo Ghiselli from Italy fighting his way to victory in three sets after 2.5 hours of play. Luys Calin from Germany also showed incredible endurance and won his match after three tough sets, totaling three hours of play.
After the matches, the players received their exclusive “The Last Eight Club” t-shirts, a tradition that symbolizes their place among the tournament’s elite. They then took the official photo, followed by interviews, which are already available on KKDP’s Instagram.
Tomorrow, the singles quarterfinals will take place starting at 10:30 AM, where we can expect the players to give their all on the court as they fight for a spot in the semifinals. In addition, the doubles semifinals will be played throughout the day, and afterward, we’ll find out who will compete for the doubles title in this year’s edition of Kungens Kanna & Drottningens Pris!
