Today, the last of the first rounds have been played here at the Royal Tennis Hall, and we also kicked off the doubles competitions for both girls and boys.

It is especially exciting to congratulate three more Swedes on advancing in the singles category. Melker Andersson (Ystads TK), Vega Bontin (Båstads Tennissällskap), and Grace Bernstein (GTG/KLTK) all won their matches and have now progressed to the second round of the tournament. This means we now have a total of five Swedes remaining in the singles draw, giving us all plenty to look forward to on an exciting Wednesday. Grace Bernstein also won her first-round doubles match, teaming up with her doubles partner Milica Sakamoto Milojevic from Great Britain.

The upset of the day came from lucky loser Paolo Carroccio from Italy, who defeated the fifth-seeded Tobias Zapsky from the Czech Republic.

In addition to the matches, KLTK’s Sports Director Magnus Ennerberg hosted a coaching conference, where over 70 Swedish tennis coaches gathered to listen to inspiring speakers. Important topics were discussed, and participants left with several key takeaways for their tennis coaching. It was a well-received event and a crucial part of KLTK’s activities in connection with Kungens Kanna & Drottningens Pris.

Wednesday promises to be another action-packed day. The second rounds of both singles and doubles will take place, and the Bonus Draw has now been finalized and will kick off tomorrow as well. To top it all off, the much-anticipated Players Party will wrap up the day, where the players will enjoy tacos and entertainment — always a highly appreciated highlight for the participants.

What days we have had and what days we have ahead — the tennis celebration at the Royal Tennis Hall continues at full speed! Matches start at 10:30 AM tomorrow.
